Jada Pinkett Smith has defended her decision to allow her children to become child stars.
According to Hollywire, Pinkett Smith believes that 12-year-old son Jaden and 10-year-old daughter Willow are still getting a normal childhood despite their fame.
She said: "Our children are allowed to stay in the paradigm of being a child. They don't have to take care of their families: become the complete emotional, physical, and financial focus that happens to many child stars."
She continued: "This isn't about fame or money. They were still going to have their trials because of who their parents are. As much as I wish I could figure out a way I could protect my children, they have their destiny
Pinkett Smith revealed last year that she uses "agreements" rather than rules to get her children to co-operate.
Willow Smith is currently in talks to play the orphan Annie in a remake of the classic film.
