Ewan McGregor Trainspotting sequel!

Ewan McGregor wants to make a follow-up to hit movie Trainspotting!

The actor, 39, says he’s keen to make a sequel only if it’s worthy of the original.

“There’s too many poor sequels in the world,” Ewan said.

Ewan who hot to fame as a 24-year-old when he played drug addict Renton in 1996 admits Trainspotting is the film he is best-known for.

“It’s still the main thing people ask me about when they come up to me in the street,” he said.

Author Irvine Welsh wrote a follow-up book Porno, set 10 years after the original, and director Danny Boyle has said a sequel would happen.

“It’s not something that I would completely dismiss off-hand until I’ve seen a script,” McGregor said.

“I don’t like being the guy that’s making it not happen, especially when all the other guys want to make it.

“But I wouldn’t want to do a sequel to Trainspotting if it was just for the sake of it and, if I’m honest about it, I wasn’t that blown away by the book.”

Ewan who turns 40 today, March 31 recently revealed he has decided to keep his clothes on in all his future roles because he thinks he is getting too old to strip off on screen.

“I’m getting older and the actresses stay younger,” he said.

“I don’t want to become Clint Eastwood, where his love interest is 50 years younger than him. You never want female costars to feel like you’re taking advantage of the situation.

“Anyhow, sex scenes are terribly exposing and rarely of any use in learning about character. Directors are always pushing you in these really strange ways, saying, ‘Let’s just see where it goes.’

“I like it when the sex is more choreographed. It’s somehow easier to do.”
