Rihanna turned down US X Factor?

Rihanna turned down a place on the judging panel of The X Factor.
The S&M singer woud have loved to accept the offer of a role on the US version of the show by head panellist Simon Cowell, but cannot appear when it launches later this year because of her hectic touring schedule.
“Yes, it’s something that I would have loved to do, actually. But our schedule doesn’t allow and it’s a demanding schedule to be on that show,” Rihanna said.
“You have to be around months at a time, which is impossible for me.”
Judges on the show have to go from city to city deciding which singers will go through to the next stage of the competition, then act as mentor to a number of acts and judge the live TV show on a weekly basis.
So far only Simon Cowell and music industry executive L.A. Reid have been confirmed for the panel.
Other stars linked to the show have included Cheryl Cole who stars on the UK version of the program Nicole ScherzingerJessica Simpson and Katy Perry.
Simon has admitted to having sleepless nights over the final line up.
“The truth is that the reason we haven’t announced the panel yet is that nobody can agree,” he said.
“You make a decision, then you get nervous about it, then you wake up in the middle of the night saying, ‘I’ve made a terrible mistake.’ You call everybody the following day to say you’ve changed your mind and then 24 hours later you go through the same process again.”
Meanwhile, preliminary auditions have been held in Los Angeles, Miami and New York.

The 76-year-old actress who was married to businessman Steve Parker until their divorce in 1982 after 28 years of marriage claims she had “never known” such companionship existed until she had her pooch Terry, and the pair cuddle up together in bed every night.
“My dog Terry is the love of my life. I have never known friendship and companionship like it,” she said.
“Perhaps I am bonded so closely to her because we are together every moment of the day and night. We sleep cuddled up together every night, so it’s a good thing I don’t have a man in my life.”
Despite the lack of men in her life now,Terms of Endearment star Shirley who recently revealed she once had sex with three different men in one day hinted she often got very close to her costars on the set of movies.
“I must confess, I’ve always been attracted to my male costars. I found male actors very intriguing,” she said.
“When filming a love scene, if an aggressive actor takes off all his clothes and jumps on top of the leading lady, who may or may not peel off hers in turn, the crew will go right on lighting and moving equipment, the director will wave his hand to keep filming and say ‘OK, this is good for the characters’, the publicist will roll his eyes, the front office will immediately hear about it and start to gossip, and if the two under-clad actors actually do like each other who knows?”

“Nobody will admit it right now, but I guarantee you there will be tears.”
Lautner, 18, recently revealed that the worse thing about being famous is the lack of privacy.
“There’s tons of good things and bad things,” he said of fame. “Obviously, the lack of privacy is bad. It’s not normal to go out and have dozens of cars with photographers waiting outside while you get your coffee. But like I said, there’s many good things too and I’m willing to put up with the inconveniences.
“I might not go shopping or to the movies, but I have my favorite places, like certain restaurants that are not very famous. There are times when I don’t care and I go bowling. It might get a little complicated at times, but I still have fun, even if I go back home thinking I shouldn’t have gone out and I don’t go out for awhile.”
Lautner says his family help him keep his feet on the ground.
“The answer is in the family members and friends that I’ve known for a while,” he said. “This is our job, we live in the business world, but then we go back to normal. We can be famous, but in the end, our lives are as normal as anyone else’s. We stay at home and we don’t live the exciting lives people think. Keeping a balance in our lives is important, and I can’t lose that.”

“They were still saggy only now they were bigger! They were saggy and gigantic. I was so uncomfortable. I don’t think your breasts should be the first thing people notice when you enter a room.

Russell Simmons letter to Barack Obama!

Russell Simmons is speaking out!
The music mogul has written a long letter to President Barack Obama in which he urges the world leader to remember the poor.
The letter, which appears on the Hugffington Post website, reads:
Dear Mr. President,
I listened to your speech last week at Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network’s 20th anniversary dinner, talking among friends and close supporters. This was an annual African American dinner, a very important one. While I know that any Democrat would have fulfilled their promise to come back if they had won the ‘08 election, I also know the significance, and the special burden it poses on you, as the first African American President, at the same time.
Still, I woke up the next day feeling uneasy, not because you didn’t take issues of direct significance to the black community head-on like the fact that one in three black children go to jail once in their lifetime or that black people have an unemployment rate double the amount of white people but because nowhere in your deep and thoughtful remarks did you talk about the elephant in the room that affects ALL Americans, irrespective of color: the growing ranks of poor Americans, Americans struggling not just to meet their mortgage payments but to eat, sleep under a roof, educate their kids and pay their basic bills.
As a passionate advocate of yours since I joined your campaign in 2008, there is something you need to hear: in trying to soar above party politics, you risk forgetting your most important commitment to inclusion and empowerment. As you prepare for your speech to the nation tomorrow night, I write this letter to you as a friend and strong advocate.
The rich are already at the table, as are the Democrats, the Republicans, the Tea Party and the unions, the business interests and the moneyed interests. The poor can’t afford for you to forget about them, and you cannot afford it either. Of all Americans, the poor are not just the real victims of this recession; they are the victims of a thirty year campaign of smear and neglect, to strengthen the rich on the backs of the rest of America in the dim and ultimately futile fantasy that the rich getting richer will somehow “trickle down.”
Well, it hasn’t trickled down. While middle class wages have declined in the face of unparalleled wealth and technology creation since the 1980’s, the poverty rate in our country is the highest it has been in 51 years. That takes us to the early 1960’s. Shame on all of us who otherwise take pride in the achievements of this rich and powerful nation.
If you don’t put the poor at the heart of your policies for the next two years, with the interests aligned in favor of the rich, too many of the middle class will join them in their suffering. That is the “trickle up” of poverty that has impoverished nations with unfair concentrations of wealth at the top. That is what destroys great nations.
After the devastating financial meltdown of 2008 which came from the orgy of gambling by the richest among us and the generational recession that it wrought and now the agenda of cuts on the backs of the neediest in America, we are the precipice of losing the very fabric that makes us strong.
A few months ago, I was sitting in the church pew during the beautiful celebration of the life of one of my heroes, and one of yours, Kennedy’s adviser and architect of so many policies of inclusion and empowerment, the great Sargent Shriver. It was Sargent Shriver who influenced and encouraged President Lyndon B. Johnson to declare a war on poverty in America in 1964.
The service for Mr. Shriver was deeply moving, yet there was a noticeable absence. The First Lady, President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, Oprah, Bono, Gov. Schwarzenegger and too many other celebrities, politicians and well-wishers to mention were all there, and you were around the corner at the White House. We needed you there to seize that moment to renew Mr. Shriver’s dream and address our nation with a stirring speech reminding us of your campaign vows and life-long commitment to fight a war on the illness of poverty that afflicts our country, and that more and more Americans are falling into.
If we do not attack this problem with the same zeal with which we are talking about the national debt, the narrative in Washington will continue going in the direction of more misery and more poverty on the horizon, more needless suffering, young minds lost and greatness denied. Why? Because we’ve let the moneyed interests that gambled with the economy and came to you for bailouts paint the narrative that the poor, not they, are to blame.
By your own admission, you were too busy “getting stuff done” to paint the narrative of the transformative presidents of both parties you respect so much. Where is that narrative now? Why don’t Independents and Democrats and even thoughtful Republicans buy into the amazing accomplishments of your term so far: saving the economy, managing two wars you didn’t get us into, health care reform, financial reform? Because the heart of your story is missing the hard crushing reality facing everyday Americans who could not only NOT afford the $1,000 to come to the National Action Network dinner, but had to wonder about the $2.50 subway ride uptown. The heart of your story is “the other America,” the one that either is or is just about to be, poor. It may not poll well today but that is only because there is more to leading than “getting stuff done.” And you are the only one who can lead.
When we talk about cutting, if we don’t talk about reversing the unfair Bush tax cuts on people like me who get richer, it seems, just by breathing, if YOU don’t personally challenge America day in and day out for a more balanced economy between rich and poor, between fair and unfair educational outcomes, and in favor of basic services while reforming entitlements, you risk the very passion that you will need in your constituents and in your own deeply compassionate heart, to win today, forget the future.
My businesses have always benefited from giving a voice to those outside the mainstream who, through their creativity could change and then transform America: rappers, comedians, poets, designers, people who need a bank account, bloggers who use this very website on which this letter is posted, GlobalGrind.com, to talk to a new America, one that is multi-racial, tech-smart, inclusive and deeply compassionate. I have benefited from never wavering from my mission of giving a voice to those communities. You can’t afford not to.
We have tough times ahead. Perilous times. Treacherous times. But it has to start with the victims, the poor, paying the least and the rich, who did so incredibly well, paying the lion’s share of the hard sacrifices ahead. And for that fight, I will be at your side morning, noon and night.
Your Friend,
Russell Simmons

“I didn’t do nude Yves Saint Laurent, although I love that picture. Instead, I slicked back my hair and put on glasses. I wore a tux with a bow tie. Unfortunately, people don’t know Yves Saint Laurent, and they thought I was the guy in the Six Flags commercial.”

The Nine ’til Five star then joked that she could name herself after a chocolate snack popular in her native southern America to sound similar to GaGa’s own unusual self-styled moniker.
“GooGoo and GaGa! You know those GooGoo candy bars in Nashville? I could be Lady GooGoo,” she said.
Although more advanced in years, Dolly is similar to the 25-year-old Poker Face singer because both are proud of their eccentricities and are seemingly unconcerned with what others think of them.
“I really do think that I stand for being proud of who you are and not worrying a lick about what other people think, really. I feel fortunate that I’ve never had to be anything other than myself,” she said.
One star Dolly has already teamed up with is Queen Latifah.
The two star as opposing choir members in new musical movie Joyful Noise and they sing together on two tracks.
“I wrote four of the numbers. There are a couple we got to do together. There’s a lot of great music in the movie,” Dolly said.

Gwyneth Paltrow cookbook is rubbish says critics!

Gwyneth Paltrow is under fire!
The actress’ much-talked-about debut cookbook, My Father’s Daughter, has been lambasted by critics!
Eater.com called it “a vanity project from a rich person completely unafraid to casually boast about her life of privilege” and compiled a list of their favorite lines from the book lines described as “unintentionally very funny.”
The book is inspired by the meals Paltrow enjoyed with her late father Bruce Paltrow and she promises the recipes are ideal for family life.
Paltrow recently admitted she is “deeply flawed”.
The 38-year-old actress who has children Apple, six, and Moses, five, with husband Chris Martin claims she is too much of a perfectionist and considers herself a “normal mother” like any other parent with a career.
“One of my most negative qualities is the perfectionism that I have, and I think that I unconsciously project that because it comes from self-doubt and insecurity and that’s the ironic part,” Gwyneth said.
“I’m so deeply flawed. I’m just a normal mother with the same struggles as any other mother who’s trying to do everything at once and trying to be a wife and maintain a relationship.
“There’s absolutely nothing perfect about my life, but I just try hard.”

Bradley was recently asked if he thinks being handsome is a handicap.

“I certainly don’t go through life being plagued by being handsome.
“In fact, quite the opposite. I’ve heard many times ‘he’s not sexy’ or even ‘f***able’.”

Jamie Oliver speak out!

Jamie Oliver has opened up to Parade magazine.
Oliver talked about his new show, Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, which returns for season 2 tonight on ABC.
How the first season of Food Revolution measured up: “The biggest take-away is that change is absolutely possible. It’s not easy or fun, but the community of Huntington, West Virginia have made the Food Revolution their own and are transforming the food culture in their town.”
His favorite dish to cook at home for his family: “That’s like asking me which kid is my favorite. I love to cook and  always have a variety of things, salads, roasts, pastas, fish whatever  is in season and looks good at the market. I have training and access to  fresh food, so cooking for me is easy. I think it should be the right  of everyone to have the same knowledge and access.”
Jamie admits to his guilty pleasure foods: “I’m really not a health-minded chef. I am a chef and love all kinds of food. What I want to teach people is that you can eat anything you want, as long as it’s once and while and part of a balanced story and in reasonable portions. I love burgers, I love pizza.

Ceca Raznatovic guilty plea!

Serbian folk music queen Ceca Raznatovic pleaded guilty to embezzling millions in exchange for a lenient sentence, prosecutors said Tuesday, bringing to an end a legal soap opera that has transfixed the country.
The singer real name Svetlana Raznatovic struck a plea bargain with state prosecutors by pleading guilty in a sale of soccer players from her late husband’s club. In return, she will spend one year under house arrest and pay a $2.2 million fine, the largest ever imposed in Serbia
The star was charged with embezzling about $5.8 million during player sales to foreign clubs and faced up to 15 years in prison if convicted. A Belgrade court still has to formally approve the plea bargain.
Ceca has for years evaded legal prosecution thanks to the support of current and former Serbian political leaders who consider her untouchable because of her huge popularity.
Prosecution spokesman Tomo Zoric defended the bargain, saying the fine will be the largest ever paid in Serbia.
“We are talking about cash, not real estate, which will benefit all the Serbs and will be used for (building) hospitals and schools,” Zoric said.
