Greta Gerwig has opened up about her sudden rise to fame!
The sexy screen siren stars alongside Russell Brand and Jennifer Garner in upcoming flick Arthur.
“It seems kinda neat, to be honest,” Greta said of fame. “It means that people are watching my movies. And if nothing else, what a way to spend your youth.
“There’s some quote that says, ‘“Fame is for the young’. I think it’s an Oscar Wilde quote, I don’ know. Plus when I was a kid, even when I was in college, I kind of always thought I was hot shit anyway, secretly. I was surprised people don’t know who I am! I’m pretty great, I think. And this was a propos nothing. And there was no reason for me to think this. I’m kind of an extrovert, and I felt like everyone was my friend. I didn’t feel like the world was a bad place.
“I think my personage resists a sort of glossiness. I think I’m kind of square peggish in a way. I bring a little bit of not-glossiness to glossy movies, and I think it’s kind of cool that I get to do that I mean, they make me look beautiful, and I wear great costumes, but there’s a lack of slickness. Because a lot of it has to do with, and I think especially with women, like their teeth are changed, I don’t know.
“I like to think of myself as a cleaned up girl, but not a glossy girl. Me, you look at me, and think, you probably would have been the best, funniest harem girl. The court jester. I think there’s something in my soul that’s lighter, and I think acting has a lot to do with god, I’m going to sound like such a douche, but I can’t help it, I’m going to say it I think a lot of acting has to do with class, because I think it’s visible in America it’s not talked about, but it’s real. Stella Adler always wrote about how people carry themselves and how they speak.
“When I’m shooting a movie, it’s like I’m living in a submarine, but in between movies I wake up at 8, I try and go to dance class tap and modern It’s just really fun. If you can dance, why wouldn’t you dance? And then I shower, and I usually like to leave for the day, which is why I have my backpack, so I pack everything I need. Then I like to write in the public libraries, because you don’t have to buy anything. They’re quiet.”
