Jennifer Lopez: 'Idol judges like brothers'
Jennifer Lopez has described working with her male colleagues on American Idol as "like having brothers for the first time".
The singer joined the show this year, after Simon Cowell quit as a judge to launch the US X Factor. Lopez sits alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, while Ryan Seacrest hosts.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Lopez said: "I love it. We are having a great time. Steven, Ryan and Randy are awesome.
"It's like having brothers for the first time in my life. They are all very protective of me. We support each other. It's a good unit."
The 'On The Floor' singer, who was recently described as "really invested" in the reality singing show by husband Marc Anthony, also spoke about the importance of balancing work with her role as a mother.
"When I was on my own without kids, I had no trouble," explained the mother-of-two. "I worked from day to night. I worked 24/7. Now I am different. I am a working mother now.
"To find the right balance is just very difficult. The babies become the most important thing in my life.
"Everything else has to take a back seat. I am figuring it out as I go along with these two angels of mine. And we are doing just fine."
