Katy Perry says performances during the Vans Warped tour in 2008 helped her become the successful artist she is today.
The I Kissed a Girl hitmaker liked having to “win over” the crowd during every show she gave.
“I learned so much on the Vans Warped tour because I don’t think the crowd was there to see me, so I really had to win them over every single show,” she said.
“That was cool and I was happy to do that because fighting for their attention helped me get where I am today.”
Perry, 26, then discussed her upcoming world tour.
“The show is a big production, but there will be wonderful moments where I can strip it down to just me and my guitar. Yes, people will be able to dance and maybe they will be able to cry, but in a lovely way. And I don’t want to ruin any surprise but, I might be changing over 20 times in one show.”
Perry recently revealed she’s going to space with her husband Russell Brand.
“Russell and I are interested in anything extra-terrestrial. I mean, we’re going to space!” she said.
“We’re really excited… I just thought, ‘What else can I give this man? He’s had every experience in the world, but not a trip to space! And so he’s also always searching for what is beyond this world, and we both kind of have this same vision and are always looking for more. It will be really exciting. It’s like a half-a-day trip.”
